Berber rugs measuring 2x3m are the perfect size for medium to spacious living rooms with a sofa at least 250cm long or a 3m long corner sofa. It is recommended to tuck the rug at least 10cm under the sofa for a more aesthetically pleasing look. In a medium-sized apartment living room, a 2x3m rug will help define a nice seating area and visually enlarge the room. In a very spacious living room, it will help better delineate the living area. With a corner sofa, the advantage of a rug of this size is that you can more easily adjust the amount of rug you place under your sofa depending on the room's dimensions.

The rule is that the chair legs should all be positioned on the rug when no one is seated at the table. But it's perfectly fine if the legs extend beyond the rug when you're seated.
